After establishing a local coin mint in Viminacium in 239 A.D., bronze coins minted in other towns of the Roman Empire were almost entirely displaced in Singidunum by local emissions. In the Roman times, this was the only mint in the territory of today's Serbia. A few years later, an Imperial Roman Mint was established in Viminacium.
