Forum of Belgrade history amateursm is operating for over 40 years under the auspices of the Belgrade City Museum. It was founded originally as Belgrade history amateurs Club on the initiative of influential citizens and lovers of city's cultural heritage. Its genesis was primarily an expression of old Belgraders wishing to have their civic association, which would meet and evoke events from interesting and tumultuous history of the city, in order to preserve the stories of people who lived in it and have left a deep mark. The lobbying for the Belgrade City Museum was of particular importance, in order to collect data, facts and tangible cultural assets necessary for understanding the history of the city.
From the onset of the Club to this day, meetings are held once a month, every first Monday of the month (except on January, July and August). The theme of the lecture covers a very wide range of professional and scientific fields. Lecturers are curators, teachers, publicists, university professors, eminent scientists, and amateurs, collectors and lovers of the history of Belgrade, which find their way to the audience in authentically and skillfully way.
