On returning from the Balkan wars tens of thousands of citizens officially welcomed the first Army unit led by its commander Prince Aleksandar. After welcoming under the Arc de Triomphe, where there were names of places of Serbian victory, the army has continued with cheers through the streets Nemanjina, Karađorđeva and Bogojavljenska to Kalemegdan, where the monument of Karađorđe was unveiled. In the summer of next year, in the Austro-Hungarian bombing of Belgrade, the monument was destroyed.
