The pin belonged to king Milan Obrenović V. It was made of the bullet that a devastated Jelena Ilka Marković fired from her pistol in the Orthodox Cathedral on 11 October 1882, in an attempt to assassinate the king to avenge the death of her beloved husband, Jevrem. The gold ring with alternating rubies and diamonds serves as the pin's base. The lead bullet is fixed inside the ring itself.
