Statement regarding the collapse of the facade in Resavska 40b

Resavska_fasada_01On Friday January 27, 2012, around 7pm, part of the facade of the building aimed for Belgrade city Museum collapsed. Building was submitted to the City of Belgrade for the permanent accommodation of the Museum 2006. During the collapse of the facade car parked in front of the building was damaged but there were no injured. Communal and Building Inspection, police, chief city architect Dejan Vasović and director of Belgrade City Museum Danica Jovović Prodanović came immediately at the scene. After the investigation was completed, the space in the vicinity of the incident was secured, marked and partially enclosed the same evening. Utilities of the City of Belgrade had cleared the rubble.

By order of Building Inspection, in cooperation with the Secretariat of Culture, the Secretariat of Transportation and the Directorate of Roads, JKP "Beograd put" committed building enclosure in Resavska and Birčaninova streets to protect passers. PUC "Beograd" informed us that the sidewalk around the building in Nemanjina Street will soon be protected.

At the initiative of the city architect mr Vasović Transportation Institute CIP will create a proposal for measures of protection to preserve building from further deterioration, to the point of making the project of reconstruction and rehabilitation of permanent building.

Zone around the facility, wide sidewalks is being protected with fences.

We appeal to citizens to, in order to their own safety follow the signs on Nemanjina, Resavska and Birčaninova street and avoid moving in the proximity of the building.
We note, that it is recommended to avoid parking vehicles in the parking space on each side of the building in Resavska 40b, because the damaged vehicle was properly parked in the parking space prescribed
